I adopted a rescue puppy a lab mix when she was 6 weeks old. I use to have a lab mix and just loved her so much and when she passed I was feeling very lost. I waited a few years but needed to adopt another pup and contacted PAWS and met Candy. At the time she had been given the name of Pandora which was cute but decided to call her Candy.
I immediately made an appointment with the vet to have her evaluated and Dr. Richards and all the vets at the clinic helped me with Candy. She had a lot of energy and I am in my 70’s but I was convinced I could handle her. The vet helped me to get used to Candy and thought I would be fine. She was a happy pup and strong with a loving disposition and when we came to the office she would let me take Candy to a private room so she wouldn’t be distracted by the other dogs. She would make over her and love on her every time I would bring her to the office. She would give me advice to help me control her energy and Candy loved her and the others. She has settled down quite a bit and using some softer talking to her she behaves much better
She is now one year old and has become a great pup thanks to her wonderful vet.
